THE BASIC STANCES IN WING CHOON KUNGFU

The Goat Stance practiced in Choe Family Wing Choon is quite different from that practiced in many other schools. The knees are not purposely hooked in, but are in line with the legs. Nevertheless the knees are slightly hooked in because of the toes which are hooked in about 5 to 10 degrees.

Once the posture is correct, it is very important to relax. Stance training is a relaxation exercise, not an endurance test.

Internal force and mental clarity are developed in stance training. Both are very important, not just in kungfu but more significantly in daily life.
