COUNTERING AT THE COMPLETION, MIDDLE, INITIAL AND PRE-START POINTS OF AN OPPONENT'S ATTACKS

It is easy to fell a Kick-Boxer if you know how

We may divide the timing of our counters into four stages - at the completion of an opponent’s series of attacks, at the middle, at the beginning and before he starts his attacks. In practical terms, we may counter at different points. For example, if there are five attacks in the series, then we have six points of countering, namely Points 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and -1.

Point 5 is at the completion of his 5th or last attack Points 4, 3, 2 are at the middle. Point 1 is at the completion of his initial attack. And Point -1 is before he starts his attacks.

How do we know how many attacks the opponent is going to make? Simple. Let him continue attacking. When he stops or hesitates, counter-attack him. If we want to counter at the middle stage, before he has completed his attacks how do we know how many points are available for our countering? It does not matter. Any points along the way after he has started his attacks and before he has completed them, are at the middle stage. Unless we are very skillful whereby we may pre-determine the exact point to counter, we can counter at any advantageous or convenient point.
