KNEADING HANDS OF WUZUQUAN

Kneading Hands appear similar to Pushing Hands in Taijiquan, but they are different. Pushing Hands trains footwork and combat skills, whereas Kneading Hands is used to test how well you have performed the fundamental set of Wuzuquan, San Zhan, as well as to train combat techniques.

If you have not learnt Kneading Hands as presented in the video, spend at least 3 months to learn it. In other words, you spend 3 months to practice San Zhan, and then another 3 months to learn Kneading Hands.

Please note the difference between "learn" and "practice". When you learn something, it is new to you. When you practice something, you already know that something, but you go over again and again that something so that you have better skills.

Indeed, it is because many kungfu practitioners do not differentiate between learning and practicing that they cannot use their kungfu techniques to spar. But you must learn and practice systematically and progressively. If you just learn kungfu sets, and never learn and practice their combat application, you will never know how to spar no matter how long you may have learnt.

After learning Kneading Hands, you can test it. You should spend at least one month practicing daily for the test. The two persons demonstrating Kneading Hands are Sifu Roland Mastel and Sifu Jeffrey Segal. They have tremendous internal force. If you are new to Wuzuquan, and do not have their internal force, don't worry. In fact, you should get a partner of your level to test you.

If you follow the programme and practice systematically and progressively, you should be able to use Wuzuquan techniques for combat in a year. More importantly, you will be healthy, full of vitality, have longevity, mental clarity and be peaceful and happy.
