Spiritual cultivation is not the same as moral development and religious education. The three approaches of spiritual cultivation is to tame the spirit, strengthen the spirit and expand the spirit. The countless benefits may be classified into three categories

1. To have a happy, healthy, long life here and now.
2. To go to heaven in the next life.
3. To merge with Cosmic Reality, described variously as to return to God the Holy Spirit, to attain Enlightenment, and to see the Original Face.
