SOME PRAYING MANTIS TECHNIQUES AGAINST STRIKES
Three main Praying Mantis techniques shown in the video below are hook hand, chopping fist and knee strikes. You must be able to perform these patterns spontaneously with internal force before you start thinking of their applications.
Following the sequences shown in the video, practice daily for at least 3 months before you apply them in sparring. Initially you need to ask your sparring partner to slow down so that you can execute your responses correctly. Gradually increase the speed and power.
Whenever an opponent in combat executes a punch, which is frequent, you can apply your practiced sequences instead of bouncing about like many combatants do. You will be surprised at how easily you can defeat your opponents of a similar level.
