STRIKES FROM FOUR DIRECTIONS -- TOP, MIDDLE, LOW AND SIDES

It is a common misconception amongst Taijiquan practitioners that if one is good at "Tui Shou" or Pushing Hands, he will be also be good at combat. This is not necessary so. Pushing Hands train combat skills. He also needs to learn techniques for combat.

All attacks can be classified into four categories, namely striking, kicking, felling and gripping.

Regarding striking, all strikes come in four main directions, namely top, middle, low and sides (or left and right). "Immortal Waves Sleeves" and "Cloud Hands" are effective in handling all strikes, as shown in the video.

Practice daily for at least 3 months so that you can respond spontaneously with "Immortal Waves Sleeves" or "Cloud Hands" whenever your opponents strike.
