"Monkey Fells Tree" against a powerful undercut
Many people have difficulty defending against undercuts, known in Shaolin Kungfu as skyward cannon punches. Blocking them is inferior as undercuts are powerful. Moreover, blocking an undercut exposes your upper body to attack. An excellent counter is to thread the undercut and fell the opponent following his momentum. You should place yourself in such a way that he cannot strike or kick you while you execute the felling technique.
