24-Pattern Taijiquan Set

This 24-Pattern Simplified Taijiquan Set was originally composed by a committee of Taijiquan masters in China for the purpose of wushu competitions. As there were different Taijiquan sets, the committee felt that a common set would be easy for the judges to evaluate.

Although it is called a simplified set, it contains all the important patterns in Taijiquan. However the patterns were selected from Yang Style Taijiquan, with no typical Chen Style or Wudang Taijiquan patterns. The patterns are excellent for combat. Besides being beautiful to watch and contribute to good health if practiced as chi kung.

As it contains many excellent points, this was the set Grandmaster Wong chose when he first taught Taijiquan in our school. Grandmaster Wong added tow patterns, Elbow Strike and Shoulder Strike, to the set so that it included all the thirteen fundamental techniques of Taijiquan.
