MOTHER PALM 8 -- RETURN-BODY PALM

Only one side of the sequence is shown in the video below. Learn and practice both sides. Use 1 week for this sequence. By the end of 8 weeks, or 2 months, you should be fluent with Circle Walking using all the 8 Mother Palms.

One may wonder why a Baguazhang exponent bends his body, kicks with one leg, and thrusts out his hand in the other direction, in a pattern called "Cloud Dragon Returns Head". Baguazhang is a sophisticated martial art, and many of its techniques are marvelous in combat.

However, the purpose of this programme is to enable you to use Baguazhang in simple sparring. So we have to leave aside advanced Baguazhang application. Using Baguazhang in simple sparring by itself is a remarkable achievement, as many kungfu practitioners, including those who have practiced kungfu for many years, cannot use their kungfu techniques in combat.

If you practice the lessons in this programme systematically and progressively, you should be able to use Baguazhang for combat in a year. More importantly, you will have good health, vitality and longevity.
