Grandmaster Wong and Sifu Hubert Razack demonstrating Taijiquan combat application on the Blue Mountain

The following video clips are meant to help those who wish to learn the 12 Basic Taijiquan Combat Sequences, especially those who intend to attend the Intensive Taijiquan Course offered by Grandmaster Wong. They show the formation of the 12 combat sequences step by step, and were recorded during a regional Taijiquan course at the Blue Mountain in Costa Rica in March 2008.

Grandmaster Wong and Sifu Hubert Razack are the main demonstrators. Please note that their roles alternate as initiators and responders. In other words, in one video clip Grandmaster Wong is the initiator, but in another clip he may be the responder. Please also note that the initiator and the responder may be shown sometimes on the left side and sometimes on the right side of the video clip.

Please note: you can download the video clips onto your own computer and view them at your leisure. Place your computer pointer at the picture or one of the links, and right click. Choose “Save Target As”. Select the directory or sub-directory where you wish to keep the video clip. Click “Save”.

The initiator attacks with Sequences 1, 2 and 3 continuously without disengaging in between the sequences. Notice the footwork adjustment between Sequence 2 and Sequence 3

Wahnam Taijiquan

The initiator attacks continuously with Sequences 1 and 2 but taking out one pattern from the first sequence. Can you tell which pattern has been taken out?

Wahnam Taijiquan

The initiator uses the same plan, attacking with Sequences 1 and 2 but taking out 1 pattern from the first sequence. But now he takes out a different pattern from that he did in the previous video. Can you tell which pattern has been taken out?

Sifu Rama Roberto leading the class to practice break fall

Wahnam Taijiquan

It is inspiring to see elegant ladies felling big men. Notice that they practice on hard ground. It is safe as they know how to break fall.

Wahnam Taijiquan

Just as an opponent thinks he has felled you, he finds himself fallen on the ground! The students are obviously having a lot of fun.

Wahnam Taijiquan

Grandmaster Wong shows how to release an arm grip using “Cloud Hands”. This technique is found in Sequence 11.

We would like to express our thanks to Muriel from Shaolin Wahnam Venezuela for taking these videos.
