ONE PATTERN AGAINST ALL KICKS!
Some martial artists are weary of kicks as they consider, mistakenly, that it is difficult to defend against kicks because they are more powerful and have longer reach than hand attacks. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have one pattern that can be used to defend against any kicks? Actually there are a few such patterns in Shaolin Kungfu, one of which is "Tame tiger with String of Beads" as shown in the videos here. When using this pattern, it is important to keep your front arm away from the kick.
Tame Tiger with Beads | Careful of Arm | Avoid Sweeping Kick |
Precious Duck | Combat Sequence 12 |
Responder's Mode | Class Practice |
Class Practice | Don't Bend Down | Class Practice |
