THE TACTIC OF AVOIDING AND FELLING

Shaolin Kung Fu

Students practice the tactic of "avoid and fell" on Kick-Boxers

The tactic of "avoid and fell" is not only effective against Kick-Boxers but against anyone who uses kicks frequently, such as Taekwondo practitioners. A good time to move in with your felling technique is when an opponent has withdrawn his kicking leg but before he has recovered his good balance. If his leg is still in the air, you must guard it as you move in.
