Flower Set
Question 1
I would like to sincerely say thank you for not answering my last question.
I wrote: "Sigung, can I please ask, from a Shaolin Wahnam perspective, are there any important Taijiquan sets that match or differ in the importance & different characteristics of five sets in the glory of Shaolin Kung Fu."
I know that if our Master does not answer, there is a good reason not to.
— James, England
Answer
You are right in your reply. I did not answer because you were not ready for the answer. After a lapse of time, I may now answer your question.
There are five reasons why Shaolin Kungfu is superb.
1. The Flower Set is a beautiful set. It is a crystallization of Shaolin set development.
2. I am keen to teach the Monkey Set, and my sifu, Sifu Ho Fatt Nam, was a specialist in this set.
3. Zhang San Feng was a "dragon" which led to triple-cultivation.
4. I myself is a specialist in the tiger-claw.
5. Xingyiquan, which manifests profundity in simplicity, is the kungfu for generals.
The set in Taijiquan was Wudang Taijiquan in the Glory of Kungfu Course in 2018. A shorter version was San Feng Wudang Kungfu. This set led to triple-cultivation.
A typical Shaolin Wahnam student now can achieve in one month what I took one year to achieve in my students' days. This is true, although it is hard to believe.
Of course I also improve. Considering that I took one year to achieve in my students' day, and I was taught by excellent teachers, I was able to develop skills which students and instructors are not interested in. They are more interested in good health, vitality, longevity, peak performance and spiritual joys irrespective of religion or the lack of one.

Generate chi flow
Question 2
I am doing all the practice at very low level and building gradually day by day.
— Parveen, England
Answer
You are doing well. Start with the Wuji Stance, then gradually go to the Three-Circle Stance. You can have a gentle chi flow. Gradually you can progress to Cloud Hands. This will take about three months. Then you can practice the kungfu sets you have learnt. Go slow.
When I mention chi kung, I mean our Cosmos chi kung practice. Most other people practice gentle, physical exercise. You should be in a chi kung state of mind, but you do not purposely go into a chi kung state of mind. In other words, you do not enter into a chi kung state of mind. Just start with your chi kung practice, like the Wuji Stance and the Three-Circle Stance.
"White Crane Rotates Knees" is a very good chi kung exercise to strengthen the knees. But do it after three months. You have to start from scratch, but you progress very fast as you have these things before. Gradually you can progress to chi flow. Start with gentle chi flow, then later you may have vigorous chi flow. Chi flow is a very good exercise to get chi to every part of your body.
Question 3
I miss you very dearly and I miss our courses very much.
Answer
The basics are very important. I spent a long time going over the basics. I believe the basics are the Four Gates. It is so simple yet so profound.
The Tiger-Crane Set which I learned from Uncle Righteousness is too profound. There are many patterns in the set which can be understood only after many years.
You are good at kungfu and chi kung. Chi kung is for health, vitality and longevity, and kungfu for peak performance and spiritual joys.
Pick any patterns you like. Our combat sequences are marvellous. You can specialize in Shaolin or Taijiquan. Taijiquan, I think, is better. It developed from Shaolin.
Joel is a wonderful person. Treasure your time with him.
You will become a great master. The mother of the child is a good example. She is only one of many. It is great that the child is healthy.
Question 4
Is there anything I can do to improve my condition?
— Faisal, United Kingdom
Answer
First, you have to attend my Intensive Chi Kung Course to get into a chi kung state of mind. Then, you need to generate an energy flow.
Getting into a chi kung state of mind, and generating an energy flow need to be taught in person. I cannot just tell you what to do.

Three-Circle Stance
Question 5
I wanted to ask how much does your intensive chi kung course cost, and what is the duration of the program?
Answer
The Intensive Chi Kung Course is 1500 euros, and will last three days, once in the morning and the other time in the evening.
You will learn to enter into a chi kung state of mind, to generate energy flow, to tap Cosmic energy from the Cosmos, to send chi (or energy) to wherever you like in your body, to have a one-pointed mind, and to let chi kung work for you.
Question 6
I have experienced successfully sparring with Muay Thai fighters, kick boxers and even once an ex karate world champion.
— Sifu Miguel Sparoisu, Shaolin Wahnam Utretch
Answer
Congratulations for not only successfully using kungfu against Muay Thai fighters and Kick-Boxers, but also a former Karate World Champion. They must be very surprised that you are courteous. Courtesy is a hallmark of kungfu.

Tiger Claws
Question 7
Your words not only express the beautiful, they are also true.
Answer
When a kungfu exponent wants to challenge another kungfu exponent, he won't say, "Let me show you how ineffective your martial art is -- unfortunately many martial arts would say this today -- he would say, Sifu, please show me a technique or two."
If he successfully defeats his opponent, the loser would say, "Tor chea Sifu shou ha lou cheng" (Cantonese pronunciation) which is "Thank you, Sifu, for letting mercy flow from your hand."
It should be remembered that "yit san wan you yit san kou, keong choong yi you keong choon sau" (Cantonese pronunciation) which means "there is another taller mountain; no one is undefeatable."
Question 8
They must be very surprised.
Answer
The former Karate World Champion, Muay Thai fighters and Kick-Boxers must be very surprised that you used kungfu techniques to defeat them.
They were used to external kungfu forms fit for demonstration, or what the Chinese would call "flowery fists and embroidery kicks", and martial arts techniques that exchanged blows generously
Kungfu patterns can be used for combat. In the 19th and 20th centuries, many masters went to China to test her kungfu, and they were all convincingly defeated. Why Shaolin Kungfu is the Greatest Martial Art gives its justification.
But more importantly, it can be used for promoting good health, vitality, longevity, peak performance and spiritual joys irrespective of religion or a lack of it. Today, however, most people practice external Taijiquan forms, and if they have to spar, they use Karate or Kick-Boxing and bash themselves generously.
