Triple-Stretch

"Ta Sei Moon" or "Striking Four Gates"

This is a private webpage and is a continuation of Private Webpage 1 .

A series of "ta chong" or force training while remaining on the Horse-Riding Stance and two series of "ta sei moon" or "striking four gates" which means performing the same combat sequences four times in four directions, are shown here in pictures.

Pictures for Ta Chong

These are pictures showing the first of the eight series of developing internal force at the Horse-Riding stance. The two patterns involved are "Single Planting of Flowers" and "Single Dragon Emerges from Sea" performed at the right and the left mode.

Pictures for Ta Sei Moon 1

These are pictures showing the third series of four series "striking four-gates" in the set. The sequence is performed four times. Only two times are shown in these pictures.

The main patterns are "Phoenix Flaps Wings", "Reverse Hand steal Peach" and "Reverse Handing of Golden Lotus". Supportive patterns are "Single Tiger Emerges from Cave", "Black Tiger Steals Heart" and "Fierce Tiger Speeds through Valley".

In my younger days I used this combat sequence oftern, and it almost always dazzled my opponents. >p> Please note that all the pictures are culled from the video clips of the set while being performed, and not taken individually as poses. Hence, they show patterns in fast movements, and not patterns in still pictures.

Pictures for Ta Sei Moon 2

This is the fourth of the four combat sequences performed as "striking four gates". It is simple, direct and effective, and contains the decisive techniques of Uncle Righteousness in winning combat. The main patterns are "Single Tiger Emerges from Cave", "Black Tiger Steals Heart" and "Hiding Flowers in the Moon", which is a skillful combination of Single Tiger and Single Tiger and Fierce Tiger.

These techniques and tactics are incoporated in our Shaolin Basic Sequences 5 to 8. Perhaps you can ask students whether they can recognize them.
