Baguazhang patterns are as beautiful to watch as they are effective for combat. the above pattern is called "Cloud Dragon Lies on Pillow".
The 8 mother palms form the core techniques of Baguazhang. A sequence is built around each mother palm, with 8 characteristic techniques in each sequence, making a total of 64 characteristic Baguazhang techniques. These 64 techniques are linked together to form a set, called Swimming Dragon Baguazhang Set.
The 64 patterns here are culled not from the set but from videos showing the 8 basic Baguazhang sequences. The same 64 patterns culled from the set are found here.
The 64 patterns from the set and from the 8 sequences are the same, but they are different from an earlier version of 64 patterns shown here. Both versions of 64 patterns are derived from the same Swimming Dragon Baguazhang Set, but some of the 64 patterns highlighted are different.
