You are very young, but you feel old. Try going out, like to a party or just shopping or window shopping. If you persist, there is not much to resist.

You have to persist. At first you may not feel like moving, but you have to move. You tell yourself that you are doing so on purpose, and you are determined to do it.

If you get the urge to go to the bathroom, just don't go. You will soon get used to it.

Question 4

I read that the devas or divine beings are harmful because they don't want you to attain nirvana. They want you to keep giving them offerings or sacrifice. I also read that the devas are afraid of a being who keeps sitting without lying down.

Answer

The following is untrue of devas. They want you to attain nirvana, as nirvana is neither created nor destroyed.

I don't think devas are afraid of a being who keeps sitting without lying down. When the Buddda passed onto parinirvana, i.e. he left his physical body, he was lying down.

I wonder how the situation in Malaysia is at the moment. It feels like my second home after all the life changing courses I was so lucky to experience. How are you and your family?

Answer

My family and I are well. It is indeed a pleasure to share the wonderful Shaolin arts.

I started travelling the world when my sifu, Sifu Ho Fatt Nam, the third generation successor of the southern monastery at Quanzhou, asked me to teach chi kung irrespective of race, culture and religion. Most people practice gentle, physical exercise, though they are unaware of it.
