Summoning Tea, Planes and Automobiles!

Using the skills of the Dragon Strength has been put to the test this week.

We need a minibus

A group of us decided to head into George Town. ‘We need a taxi big enough for all of us’ I thought. Just then a minibus came up the road, clocked us, but drove on. ‘We need that minibus’ we thought! A few seconds later he turned around to pick us up.

Time for tea

Visiting Ten Ye Tea House in George Town we were greeted by Mrs Yap, Master Lim’s wife. We were hoping to have met Master Lim to sample the now famous tea experience, but our timing was wrong…or was it.

Mrs Yap kindly sat us down and offered us a number of different teas to try, whilst explaining about the teas and their benefits. Sure enough her description fitted our experience, including one tea that was felt only at the tip of the tongue and another that was felt only in the center of the tongue.

As we were enjoying going with the flow instead of being disappointed our experience was even greater. Mrs Yap is a wonderful and charming lady whose enthusiasm for Chinese artifacts and tea brought the experience alive. We are very grateful.

It was nearing the time for us to leave, and we thought it would have been nice to meet Master Lim, just then he walked through the door and gave us another hour of tea knowledge and joy. Too good to miss out on!

Time was pressing on now and we were in danger of missing the welcoming dinner. ‘We need a taxi’, we thought! We walked to the end of the road and within a minute a taxi drove towards us on the opposite side of the road. The traffic was busy, but with the luck of the dragon we arrived back just in time to get changed for dinner.

Taxi to the airport

Walking down the steps of the hotel to get a juice we realized that we needed to organize a taxi to the airport. Just then one pulled up to drop some people off. We grabbed the driver (not literally) and asked him to come and pick us up at 6:30 for a 9:45 flight. “Are you sure” he said, “perhaps 7:30 would be better”.

“No, we would like 6:30” we said firmly, and we were glad we did.

We need a plane!

Think big! There are no limits to the dragon force ☺

On arrival at the airport we were told that our plane had been delayed to KL. This would have meant missing the plane at KL.

“We need a plane now Barry”!

We got to the counter and explained our predicament. “no problem, I’ll put you on an earlier flight”.

So rather than missing our flight we got here at KL in time. I am now sitting on the plane typing this.

Seeing the children off to school

After two weeks away I really wanted to get home in time to see the children off to school. Upon leaving the airport the satnav warned me of several traffic incidents that would have got me home too late. Rather than shouting at the satnav (as it wasn’t its fault!) I asked nicely for a break.

After a 2 hour journey home I arrived 5 minutes before they left for school. Delighted is an understatement!

We love Dragon Strength ☺
