SOME FACTS ABOUT LION DANCE

The best Lion Dance today comes not from China but Malaysia. In the past Lion Dance demonstrated footwork, especially stances. Since the 1980s, the Federation of Dragon and Lion Dance, Malaysia promoted what is now known as "Southern Lion Northern Dances", Malaysia has been winning international competitions year after year.
Shaolin Wahnam was well known for Lion Dance. I taught more than 10 Lion Dance associations in the 1980s. In fact I was so well known that someone jokingly said that I was more popular than the Prime Minister. I asked him why, and he said that I had newspaper coverage every week, but the Prime Minister didn't.
I found Lion Dance training time-comsuming. So I came out with a plan. Every participant would be trained in every part of Lion Dance. Now it has become ridiculous.
