Shaolin Chin-Na Set 4
SQUATTING TO PLUCK FLOWERS
伏地採花拳

Why is a chin-na master so sure of defeating his opponents with chin-na techniques when it needs four movements to apply a chin-na technique whereas it needs only one movement to apply a strike? An important reason is that he is very skillful; he can make four movements in the time his opponents make one.

Another important reason is that the master does not merely use techniques, he uses tactics and strategies. In other words, a chin-na master plans his combat so that his opponents will response in certain ways, which is the use of strategies, and that the opponents' responses are suitable for him to apply his chin-na techniques, which is the use of tactics. Unless the opponents are skillful and know the appropriate counters, it is difficult for them to escape a master's chin-na attack.

Even if the opponents could respond to the chin-na attack, the master could apply the same attack a second time when the opponents try to neutralize it the first time. If they are successful to neutralize the second time, the master could apply it a third time!

The video below shows the fourth chin-na set, Squatting to Pluck Flowers, of the Shaolin 72 Chin-Na Techniques.
