FLICK HAND AND THRUST PUNCH

"Flick Hand" and "Thrust Punch" are commonly used in Wuzuquan, "Flick Hand" for defence and "Thrust Punch" for attack.

Practice according to the video daily for at least a month. At first practice on your own individually so that your stances and movements are firm and powerful. You must be relaxed, and use internal force which you can develop from stance training and San Zhan.

Then just stay at your stance and let an opponent attacks you with just one move. Judge his distance and movement. Often you can cover him with your guard hands.

Next practice the thrust punch and flick hand. Use your flick hand to defend against an opponent's thrust punch. For systematic training, you may want to use the sequence in the video. Start slowly, paying attention to correctness of form. Gradually increase the speed and power.

Later you may not follow any routine, but use only the thrust punch and the flick hand. In other words, your partner can attack with his thrust punches any way he likes and you respond with a flick hand and counter strike with another thrust punch. Practice for at least a month so that you can effortlessly, but with speed and power, respond to any thrust punch by defending with a flick hand and counter-striking with another thrust punch.
