MINIMUM FORCE AGAINST MAXIMUM STRENGTH
Many people erranously think that Shaolin Kungfu is external and requires much brute strength. This is not true. In fact size, strength and gender are not decisive factors in genuine Shaolin Kungfu. In other words, an elderly lady can defeat a hefty young man.
This is possible due to two important factors, namely internal force and the tactic of "minimum force against maximum strength". Just one of these two factors is sufficient. Of course if both factors are present, it is better. "Single Tiger Emerges from Cave" and "Golden Dragon Plays with Water" are two excellent techniques using minimum force against maximum strength. Here they are also applied with internal force.
Single Tiger | Spirit of Tiger | Force from Lungs |
Single Tiger | Internal Force | Class Practice |
Poisonous Snake | Energy from Kidneys | Six Harmonies |
Golden Dragon | Thread, Not Block |
Deflecting Attack | Minimum Force | Golden Dragon |
