HALF A STEP BACK, AND HALF A STEP FORWARD

Shaolin Kung Fu

Grandmaster Wong demonstrates how to make some footwork adjustment when responding to Dr Damian's powerful horn punch

A horn punch like executed in the pattern "Hang a Golden Star" is a powerful attack. You may move back into a Bow-Arrow Stance to counter with "Immortal Emerges from Cave", but this may place you too far from your opponent to be effective in your counter-attack. A better movement is to move half a step back, then half a step forward, but this needs skillful footwork adjustment. Do you know what are the finer points in this attack and counter?
