FELLING ATTACK AND ITS COUNTER

The video below shows firstly a felling attack and its counter in Baguazhang. Later, after avoiding the leverage advantage of the thrower, an exponent uses "Scoop Needle from Sea Bottom" to attack the groin of the opponent, who counters with his leg, indicating the sophistication of Baguazhang.

Let us leave aside the attack on the groin and the counter with the leg for more advanced Baguazhang, and focus on the throw and its counter.

Notice that a leverage advantage is necessary for a felling technique. In the video it is provided by placing the exponent's legs behind the opponent's legs. To neutralize the leverage advantage, just step away from it.

At first practice the sequence as shown in the video. Start slowly, then gradually increase the speed and power. Later you may attempt other scenarios. You need to practice for at least 2 months before using the felling techniques or their counters in combat.
