Part 6 -- Shaolin Four-Sequence Four-Attack Set
少林四路四擊拳
The Shaolin Greeting
The four abridged Shaolin combat sequences are linked together to form a set, called Shaolin Four-Sequence Four-Attack Set, or “Siu Lam Sei Lou Sei Kheik Khuen” in Chinese (Cantonese).
The first two video clips below show the four sequences performed individually. The next two video clips show the Four-Sequence Four-Attack Set.
Although this set is short, it incorporates all the typical patterns of attacks and defence in all the four categories of striking, kicking, felling and chin-na. It is incredible but true that students trained in this set many handle all forms of attack.
The 4 sequences in this set are abridged from the 8 sequences in the "Single Tiger Emerges from Cave Set", which in turn are distilled from the 16 Basic Shaolin Combat Sequences found in "Black Tiger Steals Heart", "Fierce Tiger Speeds throuh Valley", "Happy Bird Hops up Branch", and "Fell Tree with Roots".
